About IIC
The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at Anna University is committed to fostering a vibrant culture of innovation,
creativity, and entrepreneurship among students and faculty. The council works towards building an ecosystem that
nurtures ideas, encourages problem-solving, and accelerates innovation-led growth across all campuses. Through structured
activities, training programs, innovation challenges, and mentorship support, IIC aims to convert student-driven ideas into
sustainable solutions and market-ready products.

AICTE Productization Fellowship(APF)
Under the Product Development Fellowship Program, students receive guided mentorship, technical resources, and entrepreneurial
support to transform ideas into validated prototypes. The fellowship empowers innovators to work on real-time challenges,
collaborate with experts, and gain exposure to national-level innovation platforms.

Role of the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) in IIC Activities
The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) at Anna University plays a pivotal role in strengthening the innovation and
startup ecosystem within the IIC framework. CED actively contributes through:
1. Training & Capacity Building
- Conducting workshops on Design Thinking, Ideation, Business Model Canvas, and Startup Fundamentals.
- Offering pre-incubation and entrepreneurship orientation programs for students.
2. Mentorship & Expert Support
- Providing domain-specific mentors for YIC, SIH, Toycathon, etc.
- Connecting student teams with industry experts, alumni founders, and technical specialists.
3. Innovation & Prototype Support
- Facilitating access to the Makers Lab, prototyping facilities, and technical resources.
- Supporting teams in preparing prototypes, PoCs, and pitching presentations.
4. Startup & Entrepreneurial Guidance
- Assisting students in transforming innovative ideas into viable startups.
- Offering guidance on funding opportunities, government schemes, and incubation pathways.
5. Organizing IIC Events & Reporting
- Coordinating IIC activity calendars, events, competitions, and compliance reports.
- Managing collaborations with external institutions and innovation partners.
